Legacy tool deprecation August 2022 🛠️

This update is to inform you of changes to the legacy annotation tool. In June 2022, we released a new project type - "Medical" that has a new and improved annotation tool for all modalities - image, video, DICOM, NIfTI, and more.

We are beginning a process to deprecate the legacy annotation tool completely. You will know you are using the legacy annotation tool if the labeling tool is "light" colored or your project type is anything but "Medical Project."

Please see the schedule for deprecation below:

  1. Disable legacy project creation (only new Medical projects allowed) - August 24th.

  2. Disable data upload to legacy projects - September 1st.

  3. Disable editing/viewing tasks in legacy editor completely - September 14th.

Please note that your data will still be available to export; however, after deprecation, you will not be able to use the legacy annotation tool to view/edit annotations. For any active legacy projects, we have two recommendations:

  1. Wrap up the existing projects guided by the timeline above, and export/save all your data. Re-create a new project with the "Medical" type and continue your project.

  2. If you'd like to be still able to view/edit old annotations in RedBrick AI, on a case-by-case basis we can help you migrate your legacy project(s) to the "Medical" annotation tool. Please let us know if this is something you'd like to do.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns with the plan outlined above. We are here to support you during the transition and make sure it's as seamless as possible for your team.
